Lace Collars
I have a thing for embellished collars. Sequined, beaded, or edged with lace. I’d like to make myself a detachable lace collar to wear with plain t-shirts. I’ve seen lace collars that have been crocheted, but as I don’t know how to crochet, I might as well try out an interesting and easy-to-follow tutorial I found on Leafy Treetop Spot for making detachable lace collars out of doilies.

I like how Lili of Shanghai Paradise wears a real vintage lace collar with a sweater.

I’ll have to hit up some flea markets for lace doilies that I can use to practice making collars. If I can get my hands on an ecru doily, another one that’s some shade of yellow, and buttons to match, it would be great. I would also like to experiment with making a collar out of a fine white doily, sewing a few white or iridescent sequins onto the lace here and there, and finishing the collar with a small pearl button, perhaps to wear next time it snows.
